Our Wedding, hosted by Bill & Kathleen Brennan, will be held on September 20th at the James Leary Flood Mansion in San Francisco. The wedding ceremony will begin at 4:30pm. Directly after, join us in our celebration with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dancing from a gorgeous vantage point overlooking the twilight San Francisco Bay. The dress is not black tie, but elegant evening attire is appropriate. Guests are asked to please not drive their cars to the wedding. The historic Pacific Heights neighborhood is very residential and the mansion does not have any designated parking. For our guests' convenience, a complimentary shuttle from the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf has been arranged to take all of our guests to and from the wedding. While guests may hire a taxi to get to the wedding, getting a cab at the end of the night will be very difficult and is not recommended. Guests who must drive, may park their cars in the public parking lot on California Street at Fillmore and either catch the bus or walk six steep blocks up/down the hill. (see directions & map below) ABOUT THE MANSION - A symphony of classical styles - Italian Renaissance, Rococo, Tudor and Georgian - this elegant marble building was designed by the renowned architects, Bliss and Faville, for Mr. and Mrs. James Leary Flood. Begun in 1912, the design and construction phases lasted three years, and the mansion was completed in time to serve as a stunning vantage point for the 1915 Panama-Pacific World Exposition, which filled the land below stretching to the Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Flood commissioned the finest artisans from this country and abroad to work on their home, which features hand-carved woods, expanses of marble, hand-painted murals, an enclosed tile courtyard and a stunning panoramic view that sweeps from the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz and beyond. The result was a masterpiece that endures today with untarnished grandeur. Mrs. Flood presented her home to the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1939. The building now houses classrooms and administrative offices of the Schools of the Sacred Heart. DIRECTIONS TO THE JAMES LEARY FLOOD MANSION From the East Bay: Cross the Bay Bridge. Take 101 North/Golden Gate Bridge exit to Fell Street. Go straight on Fell. Turn right on Laguna. Stay on Laguna to Broadway. Left on Broadway. The Flood Mansion is on Broadway between Webster and Fillmore. From Marin County: Cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Stay on 101 South to the Lombard Street exit. Take Lombard to Fillmore. Turn right on Fillmore and head up the hill to Broadway; turn left. The Flood Mansion is on Broadway between Fillmore and Webster. From the Peninsula and San Francisco Airport: Take 280 North to 19th Avenue. Continue straight through Golden Gate Park onto Park Presidio. Turn right at California, left at Fillmore and right at Broadway. The Flood Mansion is on Broadway between Fillmore and Webster.
